For three decades, Dr. Angelo Thrower has worked with people that have high pigmentation in their skin. He helps them better understand skin care specific to their unique needs. He is the heart of Dr. Thrower Skin Care and an expert in high pigmentation skin.
Who is Dr. Thrower?
Dr. Thrower got his start as a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine and the George Washington University Medical Center. Although dermatology was a common specialty, Dr. Thrower found few professionals understood the needs of people of color. There were no courses specializing in ethnic skin. As a result, Dr. Thrower had to teach himself about the dermatology of high pigmentation and how it is different from caring for those with light-colored skin. As a pioneer in this distinctive field, Dr. Thrower contributed much of the information new doctors learn today about high pigmentation skin care.

Skincare for diverse tones was non-existent in the 90s. Observing this need, Dr. Thrower created the first skincare system that addresses the primary concerns of diverse skin tones: acne & discoloration, dryness & irritation.

Since then Dr. Thrower’s Skincare regimens have been tested, refined & vetted by thousands of Dr. Thrower’s patients.
Once he was in practice, he decided it was his responsibility to serve his community with products designed for them. In 1992, he began creating products meant for high pigmentation skin, something clearly lacking in the skin care industry.
His Perfect Tone product becomes a bestseller almost immediately. The brand has come a long way over the last 30 years, but the concept remains the same – to provide quality products for those with high pigmentation.

The mission of Dr. Thrower and his skin care brand is two-fold. The initial goal is to serve a grossly underserved segment of the population.
We understand how hard having problems with your skin can be and how it can affect the way you see yourself. Our mission is to help you understand that you are special and deserve special attention. We want to help people with high pigmentation get the beautiful skin they deserve.
Dr. Thrower’s Skin Care is also about providing much-needed education and dispelling some of the misconceptions out there. Today’s skincare market sometimes gets caught up in the hype. Our mission is to help consumers better understand how to use quality skincare products that we offer based on the unique qualities of the various skin types.
We believe change is essential and only comes with people having a better understanding of what they need and why they are unique. Quality skin care shouldn’t only belong to one skin type. People with high pigmentation have special needs. We aim to provide them with quality skin care products designed to meet those needs.
